Funny

I can't improve on this with my words

  1. that was wickety, wiggedy WHACK! unfunny AND anti-Obama (I don't suspect his camp would sign off on his bid being 'Pimp-inspired').

ironically, it takes some time/talent for someone to put together such a clip, and yet that author has so very little to say.

  2. RJ - I couldn't disagree with you more. That clip was from a Blaxploitation movie from the 70's called Black Dynamite. The voice over was, to my ear, what made it funny.

And as for Obama being pimp inspired, c'mon. If we take ourselves too seriously, then the terrorists have already won (that was me not taking myself seriously, get it?).

  3. I saw Black Dyamite during its original theatrical run, so I'm familiar with the scene. Even if I hadn't, the fact that his name is referenced a dozen times in 30 seconds suggests his name likely figures prominently in the title.

the 'Obama as pimp-inspired' notion isn't mine - credit for that limp idea goes to the clip & it's editor. I'm also not suggesting that we can't make fun of Obama. All political figures make for great parody & satire and I'm sure Obama will too.

here's where we can (in an Obama-like fashion) find common ground - the clip is crude and crass. I'm big on crude & crass - the caveat being it's gotta be funny. This clip simply was not. In fact, one of the oft-occurring cliches of Blaxploitation genre is the 'bad guy with a good heart' who warns others not to follow in his footsteps. This piece was like a homeless man's version of the worst of the Wayans tribe.
